Ok now hear this, the final plan for this weekend.
Jolyon has sent his apologies, so it will just be us three. I’m sure I speak for all of us when I wish him well.
Martin is due to arrive late this evening. We shall amuse ourselves during the day on Saturday until Ben arrives at around tea time, at which point the Lodge meeting will be de facto convened. We shall then listen to our recordings. We shall dine at The Borough at around 7.30pm, being joined by Mr Brennand (Honorary Guest) at some point, either for dinner or drinks later. We shall return home when ready and retire. Ben has to depart in the wee small hours. I suggest that Martin and I take our breakfast in another good local hostelry, The Sun Hotel, at an appropriate time on Sunday morning.
I hope this will be to our general convenience and look forward to seeing you both.
Alastair
This is a copy of an email sent to Ben and Martin, to provide better coverage:
I wasn’t able to book us a table at the chosen hostelry for 8.00pm but have been able to get us in at 7.30pm. This should still give enough time to listen to all our recordings (I’m going to have to make do with a very reduced session today so I don’t think I’ll be producing much), providing there are no delays with Ben’s train. Let’s keep our fingers crossed!
Martin: given that the Lodge meeting will not be convened until late Saturday afternoon, would you prefer to arrive on Saturday? You are of course still most welcome to land late on Friday, but it looks as though there will be a fair bit of thumb-twiddling on Saturday and I wouldn’t want to tear you away from the family without need.
I have been trying to contact Jolyon by telephone without success. Does anyone know what his ETA is? Has he booked his stay with the Brown-Brennands? Is he actually coming? I haven’t heard from him at all for many weeks. If anyone has a currently working communication channel with him, could they please make contact and report back to me. As a last-ditch attempt I shall try Faecesbook.
Regards,
Alastair
